One year old puppy Jake is now looking for a forever home to call his own. He is current on all vet matters, has a microchip and has been neutered. He is house trained and crate trained. He knows most basic manners. He is drawn to children of all ages but has never lived with them full time, so let's stick to teenagers and older for Jake. He is currently living with 3 foster Berner boys but Jake is picky about the dogs he wants in his life. If adopter has other dogs in the home, a meet and greet will be required to see how Jake responds to those dogs. We think overall if Jake had his way, he would love to be the only dog in the home. He can be leash reactive to some dogs, he will need a dog savvy adopter to help him with this issue. Or an adopter who has a positive technique trainer in place to assist all humans and Jake overcome this reactivity. When he arrived at his foster home he was not a super social boy with people, he has been socialized a ton in his foster home, he does seem to be a lot more social with people now. His adopter would need to be able to continue to socialize him, we do not want him going backwards in this area. Jake also can be possessive of his bones and other high value items. Adopter should be knowledgeable of resource guarding and how to deal with it in a positive way. Jake is a typical puppy with lots and lots of energy. Adopter should be in a position to make sure he gets plenty of exercise each day and other activities to stimulate his mind that will drain his energy. And in true Berner fashion, he loves attention!
Jake is located in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. His adoption fee is $450.00.
We do not transport our Berners, adopter should plan to travel to Jake's foster home and pick Jake up.
